It often takes the form of a wedding weekend — a genuine experience built around the celebration itself. Each day can have a different style or concept, offering your guests a unique and unforgettable journey.
It’s easy to see why the wedding weekend formula is so appealing: couples often choose it when getting married far from home, perhaps in a region they’ve always dreamed of visiting or in a place that holds special meaning for their love story. To fully enjoy the experience, it’s worth spreading the celebration over several days — making everything more relaxed and enjoyable for everyone, including your guests.
The experience requires very precise organization and a deep knowledge of the area and what it has to offer.
Everything starts with the couple’s specific requests and what they would like their guests to experience. From there, my team and I begin planning and organizing the two or three days, always taking into account the couple’s budget.
As a wedding planner, I need to know all the guests and where they are coming from, so I’ll personally take care of their welcome and accommodation arrangements.
On the day of arrival, each guest will find a welcome bag in their hotel room, containing the event program in their own language — so they’ll be fully informed about the schedule and all planned transfers. Even before the event, the invitation will already include information about the three main celebrations and what to expect, allowing guests to know what to pack and get a feel for the overall mood of the events.
During the event days, I provide my team — an experienced staff who know exactly what to do on these occasions. Beyond welcoming the guests, they handle all transfers and remain available at all times to assist with any needs.
The first day is usually dedicated to a welcome party. Where? Some couples have chosen to celebrate in a charming location not far from where their guests are staying — perhaps a venue with a pool and the chance to taste local specialties. As for the party’s style, that’s entirely up to the couple. For example, it could be organized in a winery to highlight a wine and sparkling tasting experience — Abruzzo offers a wide selection. One option could be hosting the welcome party at Castello di Masciarelli Vini, creating a refined and glamorous tasting experience. Alternatively, you could choose a country estate and organize a food and wine journey, involving local sommeliers and producers to let guests savor typical regional products and immerse themselves in the area’s gastronomic culture.
The wedding day — the main day — focuses on finding the perfect venue for the type of celebration the couple envisions. As always, I take care of every organizational aspect and vendor selection. This day requires full dedication, as it’s the central, most important, and most formal moment of the entire experience. Coordination among all staff is crucial. When guests come from different destinations, even more attention is required: my team handles all movements between the church and the venue and keeps everyone informed. With a complete guest list, we organize transfers throughout the day, and at the end of the event, I always arrange two return trips — one for those leaving right after the cake cutting and one for those who wish to continue celebrating late into the night.
The third day is often dedicated to an excursion, a pool party, or a relaxing day in a wellness resort with spa access. How to plan this day depends entirely on the couple’s wishes, but it’s always designed with the guests’ comfort in mind — especially since, after a long night of celebration, they’ll likely need the whole morning to rest and recover.
Many couples choose a pool party — a glamorous setting designed to offer guests every possible comfort. For example, you could provide them with a customized pool kit. Why do couples often go for this option? Because it allows guests to relax at their own pace: those who wish to rest can do so comfortably, while those who prefer to keep celebrating can enjoy music and cocktails by the pool.
The experience can end with a final dinner — perhaps in a seaside restaurant for seafood lovers, taking advantage of the many beautiful venues along the Abruzzo coast, or, for those who prefer mountain scenery, in a cozy chalet overlooking the valleys.
This type of wedding setup may not be ideal for couples with young children who can’t easily be left at home with grandparents. However, if some guests do bring their children, we make sure to give them special attention. We always arrange babysitting and entertainment services to keep the little ones happy and engaged in the celebration.
For families with children, we also organize dedicated transfers, allowing them to return to their accommodation whenever they wish.
